EU Labour Liars

Despite constant assurances to the contrary by Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, a leaked Labour party memo has come to light, which says the following:

“The Government does not accept that we should agree to extend full ECJ (European Court Justice) over very sensitive areas......These raise sensitive issues relating to national sovereignty - law and order and the Criminal Justice process. An acceptance of extended jurisdiction would have to be on a “Once and for all” basis. This would be a significant extension of the ECJ's legal responsibilities.”

The labour chairman of Labour's own review committee, Michael Connarty, has said “This is a takeover of the rights of this Parliament.”

So, Mr Brown, now that your own party have called you a liar, where's our referendum?

Especially as, just before you became Prime Minister you said: “The manifesto is what we put to the public. We've got to honour that manifesto. That is an issue of trust for me with the electorate.”

And especially as EU chiefs have given the game away as well with Article 4 of the new treaty referring to it as “The Constitution”. Oops
