1st February - European Britain with Labour In Charge

Taxes must go up by 2% to fill a black hole caused by Labour’s policies. The treasury must raise an additional £8billion from tax payers as Britain’s economic growth is not going to rise as much as originally thought.

Shadow Chancellor George Osbourne said “It was startling evidence of just how completely Gordon Brown failed to prepare the economy.”

At the same time, the number of Town Hall executives on £50,000 plus per year has rocketed under Labour. There are now 68 such executives, yet there were only 7 when Labour came into power.

And a further study by the Taxpayers Alliance reveals a total of 12,600 Town Hall staff earn more than an MP’s wage of £60,277 (Plus expenses).

But Labour are cutting back on some things at the same time, slashing frontline services such as rubbish collection and elderly care. And as a bonus, Band D council tax has risen from £646 in 1997 to £1,248 today.

Oops.
