Our EU masters, in their infinite wisdom, have now voted to ban products with low energy efficiency ratings, including patio heaters.
This is just after publicans across the country have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on them to heat outdoor smoking areas.
Despite the United Nations climate change expert, Dr Eric Johnson, saying that the emissions from Patio heaters are very minimal, Lib Dem MEP Fiona Hall stated “Energy Efficiency is the fastest and cheapest way to cut emissions. It is vital the measures are put into place.”
Publicans are forecast to lose £250 million business as a result. Thank you Europe.
